Monumento aos Bandeirantes, Monument en bronze près du centre historique à Santana de Parnaíba, Brésil.
Le Monumento aos Bandeirantes est un grand monument en plein air avec 23 sculptures en bronze s'étendant sur 60 mètres de longueur. Les figures sont distribuées sur une vaste zone qui forme une installation sculpturale importante.
Le sculpteur Murilo Sá Toledo a créé ce monument, inauguré en 2006, qui représente les explorateurs portugais qui se sont aventurés à l'intérieur du Brésil à l'époque coloniale. Il commémore ces expéditions en sculpture de bronze.
Le monument représente les interactions entre les colons portugais, les peuples autochtones et les individus africains à travers des figures en bronze détaillées. Ces représentations permettent aux visiteurs d'observer comment ces rencontres historiques sont interprétées visuellement.
Le monument est situé à un carrefour près du centre historique de Santana de Parnaíba et est facile d'accès. Les visiteurs peuvent le combiner avec d'autres attractions de la vieille ville.
Une figure montre un explorateur confronté à un jaguar, tandis que d'autres incluent des animaux locaux comme des singes et des toucans. Ce niveau de détail fait de l'installation un mélange de figures humaines et de représentations de la faune locale.
