Great American Tower, Gratte-ciel postmoderne au centre-ville de Cincinnati, États-Unis
The Great American Tower at Queen City Square is a postmodern office tower in downtown Cincinnati with a distinctive crowned top made of glass and metal. Its 41 floors rise above the surrounding buildings and house offices with floor-to-ceiling windows throughout.
The tower opened in 2011 after three years of construction, becoming the tallest building in Cincinnati and surpassing a previous record holder that had stood for over 80 years. This shift marked a significant change in the city's skyline during the early 2010s.
The crown on top resembles a tiara, a reference to the city's historic nickname as the Queen City.
The building offers good views of the surrounding city from its upper floors and sits within the central business district where you can walk to other downtown shops and restaurants. The base of the tower connects to nearby streets and parking options are available in the area.
The building was constructed using environmental building standards and received green certification during its development, making it a leader in sustainable design for the downtown area at the time. This focus on efficiency and environmental responsibility was relatively uncommon for large office towers when it was completed.
