Marple Lock Flight, Série d'écluses à Marple, Angleterre
La série d'écluses de Marple comprend seize écluses le long du Canal Peak Forest, s'élevant sur 64 mètres sur une distance de 1,6 kilomètres.
La construction des écluses s'est achevée en 1804 après des retards, un tramway temporaire assurant la liaison entre les sections du canal.
Les écluses attirent des visiteurs qui se rassemblent pendant l'été pour observer les bateaux traversant le système hydraulique.
Le système comprend trois sections: huit écluses en zone boisée, quatre près d'un parc et quatre écluses à forte pente.
L'écluse 11 a subi une reconstruction majeure en 2018-2019 pour résoudre des problèmes structurels tout en préservant son statut patrimonial.
