Black Chamber, Bureau de cryptanalyse aux États-Unis

La Chambre Noire, également connue sous le nom de MI-8, était la première organisation de cryptanalyse en temps de paix des États-Unis.

Opérationnelle de 1919 à 1929, elle a été financée par l'armée et le département d'État des États-Unis.

Son existence a été gardée secrète jusqu'après la Seconde Guerre mondiale.

Elle était responsable du décodage des communications diplomatiques, aidant ainsi dans les relations internationales.

Malgré sa dissolution, elle a jeté les bases de l'Agence de sécurité nationale.
