Le district administratif de Troitsky regroupe dix localités sur son territoire, comprenant le centre urbain de Troitsk et plusieurs communautés rurales.
Créé le 1er juillet 2012, ce district administratif résulte de l'annexion de territoires appartenant auparavant à la région de l'Oblast de Moscou.
Chaque localité du district administratif de Troitsky maintient sa propre structure de gouvernance tout en participant aux fonctions administratives moscovites.
Le district fournit des services municipaux essentiels à environ 86.752 résidents par un réseau de bureaux administratifs répartis dans ses localités.
Cette région administrative constitue l'un des douze districts de Moscou tout en conservant d'importantes terres agricoles et des espaces naturels.
